Has beta testing of iMatch 5 started?
Are any registered users able to participate in the beta testing?
Thanks,
Aubrey

The alpha/beta version of IMatch is currently only available for selected testers and the users who help with translating IMatch 5 in to different languages.

As soon as the official beta test starts, I will announce it here on the forum. As usual, all users with a current license will get access to the beta version.

We currently have 3.6; thats quite a jump to 5.0. Is there an upgrade in between?

The 3.6 was internally named "version 4" but I decided to stick to the 3 at that time. IMatch 5 is really a completely new generation with many additions, a complete re-design of the user interface, up-to-date feature set etc.
Users of IMatch 3.6 will still find their way around quickly because the general principles (Database View, Category View, ...) are also part of the UI concept of IMatch 5.

There were about 20 updates to the 3.6 version. I only change the last number in the version number usually. If I would be a marketing-driven big money vendor, IMatch would already be at version 10 biggrin

It would be nice to here something about the testing. I see that the number of Threads and Posts are getting higher, but nothing else. I am (we are) really curious :)

The only person who could inform forum members about testing progress is Mario. If Mario spends several hours keeping us up to date, that will take several hours away from development. I doubt that you really want to delay IMatch 5. I know I don't.

Pre-Beta test is well under way. The initial selected testers and I work hard to ensure that the "official" IMatch 5 Beta test will be smooth and successful.

Any time schedule/estimation - of course without obligation?

I guess that there is no use in asking such questions.
Mario has always said that he will announce it here when the Beta-Version is available for testing.

For my part, that is certainly sufficient information as I can use IMatch 3.6 (without problems) now...

Regards,
Ralf
