I'll have to grab the version finder script & give it a try. In my workflow, most images start out with a RAW file as the original then there are in-process TIFFs that are usually temporary, and one or more final JPEGs as derived versions of the RAW. I currently just use Calvin's script along with a find by directory search preset I made to transfer categories.

So I see you have a category with black color-coding to indicate a main image with additonal versions. Then a yellow tag...to indicate it's been rated?

OT: I keep trying to force my long filenames into the small thumb view, seeing your screenshot, I think I'll just drop any text (maybe use one of the User tabs & a ptm file for that).
