probably miss your point, but an Album as I understand you're using isn't that the same as a category with formula "Vacation 2006"AND"Version.Album"?

Same for me. I categorise only one image of each Version set, and that can be the Out of Camera JPG, an edited version that just looks better (crop etc.), a JPG derived from the RAW just for the slideshow (dimensions the same as my monitor pixel size) etc. etc.

I hope that this setup works out as i expect it will, thus keeping the main directorytree clean and simple and have the filter and other selection tools free from versioning tasks.

Looking for showstoppers, hoping not to find them
