I think it's better to use a controlled filename iso the DTO variable, although i liked the elegance of this setup.
I'll have to make a slight adjustment to my filenaming.
yyyymmdd_hhmm_####_anything you like.extension.
I fully agree with you on the elegance and simplicity of the current setup. That is why I initially preferred these versioning scripts over Calvin's script.
My current filenaming is yyyymmdd_####_suffix.extension. I append a suffix in the editing process, so when there is a suffix it identifies a derivative (version) of the original image. I had no need yet to use hhmm as part of the file name, but if it becomes required for scripts to work properly I guess I will adopt it. I presume some smart renaming can do the filename adjustment job.
In my setup there is no difference between the Out Of Camera Original and the main files. All my main images are OOCOrg per definition.

Did you see this post ? Summarises where i stand at the moment.
Sure I did
I am a bit lost there though, it seems like you are answering the question brought up by Erik. I can understand your logic, but I wonder what the advantage is over your current setup.

I copied and pasted a quick and dirty new VersionFinder.

The matching images are bookmarked. (existing bookmarks are erased!!)
See if you like it..
I wonder what the advantage of this script is over the VersionFinderMOD you posted earlier. The MOD script seems to fit my bill for the time being.....
